Bethany Rutledge

I’ve always loved reading. When I was a toddler, my mom let me eat cookie dough while reading my first chapter book, which forever solidified my love of both items.
My one true talent is reading fast. I love all kinds of books, but I’m an avid reader of women’s fiction, thrillers, non-fiction, and suspense.
For Athletes:
If you have a body, you're an athlete. Don't believe me?
I didn’t start in triathlon as an endurance athlete. I knew next-to-nothing about endurance sports. I thought triathlon was for uber-athletes, former Division I swimmers, and people who had life figured out.
Triathlon for beginners was confusing. And intimidating! But in my dozen years of coaching and racing around the world, I’ve learned two things.
- Training for your first race doesn’t have to be complicated.
- Training and racing can change your life in greater ways than sore legs and a cheap medal.
After getting so much out of the sport, I've compiled tips, tricks, and lessons along with the inspiration I wish I had when getting started.
The result is Courage to Tri, your triathlon beginners roadmap to dreaming, planning, then crossing your first finish line.
