Nikki Jenkins
Playing With The Hand I Was Dealt will be Nikki Jenkinss first published novel. Nikki identified her passion for writing after receiving her graduate degree from The Ohio State University. It was at a time when most writers had been honing their skills for years. However, her passion for storytelling is so intense that she feels that she can overcome her lack of experience with her God-given talents. By using her ability to create realistic characters and captivating storylines, Nikki feels that she is on her way to establishing herself as a heavy-hitter in the writing industry.

Nikkis ultimate goal is to parlay her part-time writing into a full-time career. I want to write childrens stories, screenplays and scripts for television. I want to do it all! At times I feel as if my personality is too creative to be confined within the walls of an office building. In addition to being free to write, Nikki wants to spend more time with her family. Not only am I writing to entertain, but I want to write to give my children opportunities that I may not have had because my mother was either working or to tired from working.

I want to be known as a serious novelist. One who is clever with word choice and thought provoking in delivery. The ability to take arbitrary words and put them together to create sentences that flow and are that rhythmic, now thats what gets me going!

Nikki was named by her publisher, Strebor Books International/Simon and Schuster, as its debut author of Summer 2005 in Black Issues Book Review. She will also be the September 2007 alternate selection in Black Expressions Book Club.

Nikki lives in Reynoldsburg, Ohio with her two children and her fianc. www.NikkiJenkins.com / Nikki@NikkiJenkins.com
