Overview

This year I was challenged by God to complete my Master's in Theology from Midwest College of Theology. I needed to write a 50 page thesis on a topic of my choosing. As a Christian author and speaker, I had already written a book on forgiveness and taught many times on the topic including a 5 series lesson with women who were victims of childhood sexual abuse. As I envisioned writing my thesis, I kept thinking about using the concept of forgiveness as a starting point for evangelism rather than the concept of sin. Too many people don't acknowledge the concept of sin, although they do recognize the idea of making mistakes and needing to be forgiven or giving forgiveness. In order to start a discussion with someone about how they view forgiveness, I thought it would be helpful to see what each religion teaches on forgiveness. My thesis became a survey on how different religions deal with this topic. I hope that by turning this thesis into a book, evangelists will be able to use the information gained in here to begin to talk to others who profess a different faith. "I read ________, is that how you practice your faith?" is a great way to open a dialogue about a need for a Savior in a world where sin isn't a given. To that extent, I hope this book (my thesis in book format) blesses you and brings others to an understanding of the amazing love and mercy of God and the redeeming, forgiving work of Jesus on the Cross.
