The present volume brings out the theoretical and empirical insights as well as profound linkages among quality, excellence and measurement. Quality is a pathway to excellence and should be central to all we do. Quality management is about continuous improvement. It is vital not only for survival in an immensely competitive global economy, but also indispensable for customer's satisfaction, firm's reputation, export performance, returns on investment, greater market share, higher productivity, improved innovative processes, stakeholder's delight and so on. The principles of total quality management are crucial in measuring business excellence in an organisational environment. In fact, the management of a phenomenon requires measurement to pinpoint what exactly is required to improve it and by how much. If you can't measure, you can neither manage nor improve. This book is a useful compendium for both academics and professionals interested in quality, excellence, measurement, and other themes important in Professor Gopal Kanji's works. Dr. Parvesh K. Chopra PhD (Leeds, UK), PhD (India), Master of Philosophy (Economics), PG D Statistics, M.A., B.A. (Honours), is a Director of International Centre for Development and Performance Management at Sir John Hicks College of Economics and Management, Leeds, England. He received his education in India and England, taught Economics at various levels and published singly or jointly more than 40 research papers and 18 books.
