The King James Version, commonly known as the Authorized Version, is an Anglophone translation of the early Christian Bible for the Church of England. Translated and published in 1611by the King's Printer Robert Barker. This volume was the third translation into English approved by the English Church authorities. The first approved translation was the Great Bible commissioned during the reign of King Henry VIII in 1535, and the second volume bring the Bishops' Bible circa 1568. In January of 1604, King James VI convened the Hampton Court Conference where this new English version was mandated in response to a lack of confidence in previous volumes by the Puritans, within the Church of England. This 2014 edition has been validated against multiple sources and contains no edits or additions other than the two illustrations of the original covers from 1611, which appear at the front and rear of this special edition.
