An Age of Anxiety There is no earth utopia. The twentieth first century can well be defined as the century of acute anxiety. Modern man has known a generation of mental, spiritual, moral, political, and human conflict unknown by any previous century. Apart from an 'age of anxiety' and human dilemmas beyond man's ability to control and manage; modern man and woman faces possible extinction on the planet. The peril of global warming, climate change, pollution in water, air and soil, the future appears to be gloom with despair in man existence upon the planet for generations to come. This a time of human conflict with war among the nations of the earth; it is becoming a reality again and again if mankind can survive for another century; man's weapons of war now includes the possibilities of total nuclear annihilation of mankind and the hearts of people everywhere are facing a climax hour. There are now persons who give themselves as human sacrifice to destroy other humans which indicates the perils of anxiety at its peak in the world today. To even hope about the vision of heaven (the Kingdom of God) in today's world is great hope.
